Chibimoon

This became the driving force behind most of my Sailor Moon art: What would happen in the future, when Chibiusa grew up? While she might not necessarily be my favorite character, this is one of my favorite concepts.

My very first ever picture of grown up Chibiusa, which, as you see, would become the driving force behind most of my Sailor Moon art.
My dad really likes this one. The chin came out a little square, though.
I like the title I gave this one, she looks so grown up.
This picture actually ended an argument between me and the boyfriend I had at the time. He didn't like anime, and he didn't like my art, but he really liked this picture, so it must be okay.

Getting Ready

This picture is HUGE in real life! I had to scan it in four parts, and get help piecing it back together. As of October 2007, it has been rescanned and edited.
This is Hime-chan's favorite pic I've done of Chibiusa. It's a little out of proportion, but not too badly, and it's pretty.
The reason this stayed in black and what was that after I was done, I was so afraid I'd ruin it if I touched it again, so I left it the way it was.
Her eyes seem a little vacant, but other than that I really like this one.

The title has two meanings, the promise of the lady Chibiusa will become, and of Elios's promise to return to her when she does.
Crayons blend okay, but they don't cover so well.
I had actually started this a long time ago, and had abandoned it halfway through, discouraged. I was bored at rehearsal one day and decided to finish it. I'm glad I did!
I wanted to finally try my hand at using the prismas without looking at anything, so I turned to my old standby, Chibiusa. I think it came out nicely.

Who Said Pink And Red Don't Go?

I was admiring a photo in a Victoria's Secret magazine, chiefly for the lighting, and Alex said, "That’d be impossible to draw.” Pooh on you, man, pooh on you.
I just wanted to practice drawing a pretty dress, and as I have more shades of pink than any other prisma marker, Chibiusa got to model it.
Yet another "trying to break out of my rut" drawing. I believe this was also breaking in a new sketchbook.
What can I say? I hadn't drawn in almost a year, and I wasn't sure I could anymore, so I turned to my muse. Chibiusa has yet to let me down.

The technical inspiration for this drawing is that Hime-chan came up for my birthday and was teaching me to use Copic markers, so I needed a new drawing to color, and Chibiusa is always a good default. The artistic inspiration was because I was having an EGL party of my own, and if I could, why not Chibiusa? She was the princess of the realm, I'm sure she had a big formal debut (in fact, I drew something for it years ago), but I'd be willing to bet she had a more fun private party for her and her friends.
I've been going through my sketchbooks lately and trying to finish up drawings I had abandoned. I originally had an entirely different idea for this sketch, but when I went to put a black elliptical border around Serenity, that weird...white shape on a black background showed up, and I liked it so much I decided to run with it.
Happy Birthday, Chibiusa!
