Experiment Series 1

I decided to try out all the different art supplies I owned, and as every experiment needs a constant, I decided to make Chibiusa the subject of all of my drawings. Obviously some of them came out better than others, and there are still some supplies I haven't gotten around to using, so this will be updated in the future.

why don't the other colors streak? this was supposed to look awesome. not bad for markers, i suppose...flesh tone was hard...bleh. failure. wonder what the date means translated from binary? don't use color change/erase markers except for normal use.
are oil pastels good for ANYTHING???
YUCK. markers just suck. where did that red come from???
can't really tell it's her without color...

Experiment Series 2

"Mama, I Want To Be..."

To get out of my rut, I am returning to my old muse, Chibiusa. There are a lot of pink haired anime ladies out there, and I figured Chibiusa would turn to them for inspiration for what she wants to be when she grows up.

Ooh! This came out really well! Okay, well, the colors are a bit off, but her face and pose and linework came out great!
ARGH. As I suspected, my scanner didn't pick up any of the shading I did on her top or her skirt. Bloody hell.
Well, let's keep trying to get that muse back, shall we? Naruto's so popular, I just had to have Chibiusa try to emulate Sakura.
I was at my grandfather's and I wanted to draw something relatively quick and easy, both to pass the time and to keep up with my relatively productive streak, so I went back to the Experiment Series. Here's Chibiusa as a nurse, based off of Nurse Joy from Pokemon. The fairly flat colors and shading and the boring background are all based on the original image.

I'm terrible at any perspective that's not, you know, head-on, so copying this image of Haruko was challenging for me. I don't think I got the perspective quite right, and trying to draw a guitar was a nightmare, but on the whole I like this one.
